The Chevy Blazer came back into production as a two-row midsize crossover in 2019. The response to this return was so great that Chevy knew it had a winner. That makes the FWD/AWD/RWD Blazer the perfect candidate to help bring The Chevrolet Motor Company into the world of EVs.
2024 won’t come soon enough, especially with all of the recent announcements of what to expect from the new Chevy Blazer for sale. This is definitely one SUV worth keeping an eye on.
The Blazer EV will debut with a host of powertrain options. Chevy hasn’t released all of the information about which battery packs will be available on this new EV, but there is enough information floating around to get your heart beating.
The top-of-the-line SS mode will come with an exclusive AWD powertrain that produces 557 horsepower and 648 lb-ft of torque. That means this baby can jump from zero to 60 mph in just 4.0 seconds. This trim will be the first Chevy vehicle to wear the Super Sport name.
If power is what you’re after, the Chevy Blazer EV will deliver.
Regardless of which Blazer trim you choose, you’ll be treated to a host of advanced tech features. At the center of your tech bundle, you’ll find a 17.7-inch infotainment screen. This display has both touchscreen options and physical knobs. Next to the infotainment center is an 11.0-inch gauge cluster that provides all of the information you need about your drive.
There aren’t a ton of details available about the rest of the infotainment center, but we anticipate it to be on par with GM’s latest system. You should expect features like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a built-in Wi-Fi hotspot.
Where the 2024 Blazer really stands out is with its plethora of available safety systems. This SUV will come with features like automated emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, front pedestrian detection, reverse automated braking, and an advanced park assist.
The feature you don’t want to miss is the new Super Cruise. This hands-free highway driving system feels like something out of a science fiction novel. You can even use the MyChevy app to create routes and find charging stations along your path.
The first Chevy Blazer EVs are expected to hit showrooms during the summer of 2023. The top-level SS trim won’t be around until later that year, but it will be worth the wait.
